live from the belly of the beast (logan airport, as it were) 5 shows down in as many days. thanks to everyone who came out & supported, old friends and new. i look forward to a return trip in 2 or 3 months time. we shot a video for ‘all hours’ which turned out great, eyes peeled as we’re looking to post it in the coming week. otherwise i’ve got a month reprieve followed by a handful of april dates (rumor has it, however, i can’t sit still & march shows are likely to their way into the queue) more soon…until then

writing you from the confines of central mass, 1 show down, 4 to go. tonight i shared the bill with local songwriter/good egg james keyes great tunes and a fun little show to kick off the proceedings. tomorrow i do double duty in the form of ‘high noon’ & evening shows. all this before we begin our marathon video shoot/edit saturday morn. lastly the good people at boy meets music posted a cool interview yesterday, if you’re not sick of me yet, you can find that right here…

first post of ‘the 2012′ on this 31st day of january. in a few short weeks i’ll be headed to MA for a busy 5 gigs in 6 days. i’m excited about the variety of new/old venues on this run & can’t wait to get started. while i’m back east i’ll once again be teaming up with  good friend jgd for our 2nd video, more on that soon. in the meantime, i’ve one gig left on this coast – 2/11 @ blackbird coffee & tea – details as per usual, can be found on the ‘migrations’ portion of our program. see you soon//

playing a sweet little set tonight @ crystal hotel, joined by some great ‘oregon music hall of fame’ers. starting to get serious about a new record as it’s late fall & time to live life indoors, dates are coming in. plans f/ 2012 are underway…rumors of more consistent updates may or may not be true???

october yet again! thanks to the good people at branch and birdie for having me & the always stellar mark spangler for accompanying last nights duo set. i’ve got just 4 more shows confirmed before the year is up, alas, a few ‘pending’ are in the mix which leads me to believe a few more may trickle in. 2012 will be filled with writing/recording/playing, the official announcements on this/that/the other forthcoming. in the meantime, enjoy the leaves turning.

mid-september & we’re already staring down fall in a week & change. shows from now-end of ‘the 2011′ are up…one more out-of-state gig, the rest in our lovely OR. otherwise, we’ve got multiple irons in the fire for the coming year, winter is always my favorite time to be ambitious, but i’m enjoying taking it slow, working /w/ the snails/tortoises of the world. more specifics to follow in the not-t0-distant future.

for those ‘in the know,’ we’ve been nose-to-grindstone 5 nights running and are now entering the proverbial home stretch of our crystal hotel residency…just 2 shows left and we’ve stacked them in right style:

FRIDAY, AUG 26th – it’s an encore performance from guitar great/oregon music hall-of-famer mark spangler. next up little beirut will do their requisite instrument swapping & play some great, quirky pop! finally, i’ll bring out the band to finish up the evening. 7pm or thereabout, don’t you know?! SATURDAY, AUG 27th – this last go ’round features johnny bertram, mike midlo (pancake breakfast) & full-band sets from both jon koonce and myself — a great way to cap off our little residency 7pm, hope to see you there//

the crystal residency is finally here. i’m joined tonight by my good friend, the talented/well-traveled johnny bertram. a cursory bit of poking around on the internet will reveal some of the nice things people have said about this gent, suffice it to say you won’t be disappointed. from Idaho to Jackson, MS to the great NW (for now, at least) johnny has soaked in the geography of the lower 48 and does a stellar job of writing personal tunes /w/ universal themes. we’ll play a few sets each, starting this whole thing off @ 7pm, hope to see you there!
